HAMMERSMITH, LONDON – PINK WALLED GARDEN

Featured in Homes & Gardens magazine, this project shows how colour can be a major component of a design. Our clients wanted to reflect their superbly colourful interiors in the design of the exterior. We were delighted when asked to incorporate pink mosaic tiles which tone perfectly with the pink painted wall. The planting palette ranges from soft pinks to dark maroons, a striking and unique combination.

A bespoke hardwood bench is nestled between two raised beds planted symmetrically. Wall lanterns and festoon lights give the garden a party feel whilst the guests can enjoy the comfort of the armchairs and sofa.

The lounging area is contemporary, but we have shown off the original Victorian brick walls along one boundary with some necessary cleaning and repairs.

All the boundaries are topped with a fresh Iroko square trellis for additional screening.

“We couldn’t be more delighted with the garden Joanna designed for us. She listened to our brief and came up with some great creative suggestions. Everything is incredibly well thought through and there is always something of interest throughout the year. We have used the garden so much and people cannot believe the transformation. I wish we’d done it years ago!” V.O.
