Landscapes

Country gardens are where the imagination really opens up. Without the constraints of urban boundaries, the design can breathe, drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape, the architecture of the house, and the particular character of the land itself.

From wildflower meadows and large-scale naturalistic borders to intimate spaces designed for summer evenings, these are gardens that feel rooted in their setting rather than imposed upon it.

I love working with local craftspeople on restoration projects and the creation of garden artworks that are specific to the place, pieces that feel as though they belong, because they were made for exactly that spot.

The ongoing dialogue with the head gardeners who look after these gardens is one of the most rewarding parts of this work. They know the land in a way nobody else does, and the best country gardens are always a collaboration.

“I am thrilled with how it looks and keep having to go outside to admire!” C.S.
